Pat and her daughter, Mary, made a day trip to Yonkers on Sunday to visit Lorraine, Pat's sister, at Sunrise of Crestwood. The impromptu trip proved serendipitous, as Lorraine's son Dan and daughter, Kathy, also happened to visit that afternoon.
Afterward, Dan, Kathy, Pat and Mary went to a local diner for supper. As the next day would be Pat's birthday, a mini-party broke out, featuring a bit of candle-topped cake and a rendition of "Happy Birthday" with other diner patrons singing along.
